Is tomorrow Monday already?

I don't know why weekends always seem to hurry by. Here it is Sunday night already and tomorrow it is back to work. Not sure why I am dreading it, as I was off all last week sick, you would think I'd be ready to go back. NOT! I did get to play this weekend, I did three fantasy layouts of my grand daughter. and I got my Halloween decorations up...so here are some of what I Did this weekend.
This page was done using Faerily Moonlit by Lorie Davison and elements from the kit Avalon by Valerie Randall. Love both of these designers!

This layout was done using a background from Blushbutter's Unicorn Kit, elements from Faerily Moonlit by Lorie Davison, elements from Avalon by Valerie Randall, and Scenery Trees by Christina Renee.

And this is one of my decorating ideas LOL, I took some family photos of Halloween past, printed them in black and white, put them in black frames that I had spritzed with orange paint, put some little tombstone here and there, finished it with a black candlelabra, complete with blood dripping candles and spiderwebbed the entire thing. Voila!! Halloween!

Sick Day....

I have a bug, a terrible head stuffy, upset stomach, achy, fever, yucky bug. SO I stayed home today. I slept most of the day, but I managed to get more of my book done and uploaded to Artscow. Pam, at Digitreats was wonderful enough to host this exchange and I was amazed at the great recipes. I am going to print them in a book for myself, and maybe as gifts.

I made a 6 card template, and put 6 cards to a page, and I made two 30 page books. The total price was $16.98! For two books!!! I love Artscow.

If any of you are interested here is the link to sign up and receive free stuff to start: Artscow
And if you go to the previous post that I made, there are coupons good for photobooks that you use AT CHECKOUT. Here are some shots of the book I was working on:

Recipe exchange

The first day of October....WOW. Before we know it, the holidays will be here. I am already working on gifts. I just went to get my nightly download from Pam at Digitreats. She put together a recipe exchange for her fans, complete with a recipe card template and category tags etc. It is amazing, she said she received over 300 recipes!!! I can not wait to get them! I think I will have Artscow print them, but I can't decide if I want cards, or to have them put in a book. Anyway, I posted the info on Pam's blog, so if anyone has come here for more info on Artscow, here is the reference link: Artscow.

If you join you will receive at least 400 free prints plus other things. Below I have listed coupon codes that are good until October 11. YOu will put the code in AT CHECKOUT and the total price for your 30 page book will be 11.99. To see examples of the books I have had done....scroll down and view my post about the books.

Today I requested my last kit as a Supreme Team Member. I will get it in the morning and do the layout and my duties will be complete. Here are just a few of the layouts I did this month:

For this one, I used Forever Autumn by Christy Skaggs.

This one is done using the kit Sweet September by Verena Karolyi

I used the kit The Butterfly Queens:Thaleia by Digital Anemonato scrap Chloe in the sand.

The end of my Supreme Team Duties

The last few days I have been finishing up my layout requirements for GDS. This is the last month of my "Supreme Team" duties there. In a way I hate to see it end as it has been quite rewarding to be a part of the team, but in another way I am ready for a break. I would like to get back to scrapping just for the fun of it. I love doing layouts, but I like choosing my own kits, and elements. I have completed my required 6 for the month of September, and up until the end of this month, I am able to choose the kits I want to work with. Today I chose "All Hallows Eve" by One Memory At A Time. It is an awesome kit, especially if you have kids who love Halloween like I do! Here are a couple fo the layouts I did with this kit. I had fun with these.

Busy Week

It has been a very busy week at our house, it is kind of nice to just relax this afternoon. I thought I would take time to post some of my newest pages. Also, I got my book today, and I have to tell you it is awesome! I will be taking some photos of it layer and posting them for you to see. Seriously, if you have some layouts that you wanted printed, this is a great way to present them.

Here are some of the newer layouts.

This layout is of my daughter, an amazingly strong and wonderful young woman. The kit used is from Bianca Argollo of Go Digital Scrapbooking.

This one is my grand daughter on her birthday. Kit is the September Birthday Collab offered at Go Digital Scrapbooking.

New Project

I have to tell you about a new kit that I have been working with. Pam, from Digitreats, sent me a link to the kit because she knows that I like faeries and she told me how awesome the kit is. The kit is "Faerily Moonlit" by Lorie Davison. You can find it here:

Instead of the normal scrapbook page, when I got this kit, I was inspired to write something to go with it. I ended up writing a short children's story and using the kit to illustrate the book. I hope to find other things to do with this kit, but for now........this is it, below is the cover of the book..

I'm Back

Wow, it has been two months since I added to this blog. Life has a way of just passing by, and before you know it, its two months down the road. I guess it all started with the computer crashing, I found out I had a bad hard drive and had to wait on HP to send the new drive along with recovery disks. Then, because I didn't have everything backed up, I spent many many hours trying to get things back that I lost. Thankfully, I had most of the scrapbooking stuff, my photos and my music on the external drive, so most of that was saved. ANyway, I am back, and I will try to add to this on a regular basis.

It's Friday!!

What a long week it has been. I am so glad to have off this weekend, I have a lot I hope to accomplish. Tonight I downloaded the second kit from GDS, it is called "Pale Turquoise" by Digital Anemona, you can find it here. Go Digital Scrapbooking. This is the layout I did with that kit. It is a photo we have of my hubby's Grandmother, Mother and his Uncle. I love the colors in this kit.

New Layouts

I have been bust trying to keep up with the different teams I am on. This sure has filled my evenings LOL. The first kit I am working on for GDS is the June Collab Kit, "Father's Day". It is a wonderful kit with lots of blues and browns, lovely patterns and lots of elements. You can find the kit here at GDS. Go Digital Scrapbooking. This is the first LO I have done using this kit, it is a LO of my hubby and our grand daughter on Memorial Day.

I also previewed a new kit from Cen's Loft, "Summer Chicklettes". It is an adorable kit for your summer photos of that special little girl! You can find this kit here, Cen's Loft Store. Here is the layout I did using that kit. Thanks June for allowing me to play! This layout is of my daughter and grand daughter on Memorial Day.

I made the Supreme Team at Go Digital Scrapbooking!

I am so excited! Tonight they announced the 12 Supreme Team Members and I made it! I have to say that the past four weeks have been awesome! The kits they provided us were just gorgeous, and making the LO, well what can I say.........it was so much fun. There were so many talented people in this contest, so creative, it was just amazing! The final round was a LO using the kit "Savannah" by Veronica Hurly, which was just a beautiful kit with great colors. Sticking to my theme of trying to do the LO using the name of the kit as a guide, I used photos of a statue in Savannah, Georgia, "The Waving Girl". Here is my LO.........did I mention that I am THRILLED!! Thank you GO Digital Scrapbooking for making my day, and thank you to all the designers whose kits were so awesome to work with!

Sunday.

What can I say besides.....I am tired! This is my weekend to work, thank goodness I am off on Monday. Last night on the way home I had to stop for more shock for our pool, and then go to the pet store for dog food. Once home, I spent the next several hours working on the pool. We just can not seem to get it clear. Is going to take some more time i think.

Friday night I was busy untitl late getting the posting for Pretty Scrappy's Collab kit in order. I think it was almost midnight before I went to bed,and got up at 4 am on Sat. for work. I went to bed a bit earlier lat night (10:30) back up at 4 am this morning. These 12 hr work days are too long! I hope I have time tonight to get some of my email and downloads caught up.

Tuesday is the day for the final decision on Go Digital Scrapbooking's Supreme Team Contest. My round 4 entry has been posted. I am not sure how I feel about it exactly. I am happy with the layout itself, but I am not sure it will be enough to get chosen for the team. But, even if I Don't get chosen in this final round, it was so much fun trying!! And, I got three gorgeous kits to work with.....so its kind of a win-win situation!

If you would like to view my final entry it is located here: http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=30278

I hope to get started on learning to design. I have the basics, now I just have to put them to use. I just can't seem to find time! I love creating the layouts and using the beautiful its that others create, but I just want to know HOW to do some of things myself. OK, its back to work now.........have a wonderful Sunday, and maybe I will post more once I am at home.

Saturday, May 31, 2008

I am so sorry!

In my haste to get the freebies posted I totally forgot to remove the password to download them! I apologize!! Many of you have emailed or commented that you could not download because of a password. I have removed that password and I hope you all can get the two pages with no more problems! Please check back as I plan to have more freebies each week, and I promise, to be more careful!!

I made it to round FOUR!!!!

Can you believe it, I made it to round four in the Go Digital Scrapbooking Supreme Team Contest. We were given the kit "Something Shabby" by One Memory At A Time, which is available in the GDS shoppe. This is the layout that I made and entered in Round Three.

The bear is one that I have had for years, and he, like the Velveteen Rabbit, has been loved until his fur is off in spots, his joints are loose, and he is very shabby. By the way, the Velveteen Rabbit is one of my all time favorite children's stories. Thanks to all of you who took time to check out my layout at GDS, and to leave such nice comments. Now to see what I can come up with for Round Four!!

I also wanted to share the previews of the Collab Kit from Pretty Scrappy. Yesterday I shared the previews of the elements, today I am sharing the papers. This is a huge kit! Casey has a big debut planned with lots of freebies, so check back on June 1st to see what we have for you.

My Grandma

As I have written, "Sweet Adaline Designs" was named for my Grandmother. She is a very special woman, who means the world too me. She loves Iris, thus the Iris in the header, and she loves even more the color lavender, thus the lavender Iris. When I sat down tonight to work with this kit "Monet's Garden", the beautiful lavenders and blues made me think of her, "Mom Mom" as we call her. This photo is of her and my Grandfather about 20 years ago. They love to dance.....and still will if given the opportunity!

Round 3 Results Are In

I checked my messages this morning and I was chosen to move on to round 3 in the Supreme Team Contest at Go Digital Scrapbooking!! I am so excited. The kit we used for Round 2 was "Little Star" by AmyLeigh. I think, as soon as I saw the kit, this picture of my grandson came to mind. Below is the layout that I created for the second round, thank you AmyLeigh for your wonderful designs, this kit was fun to work with. Wish me luck for Round 3, I am sure the competition gets tougher with each round!!!

Two Layouts

I downloaded two new kits from Cen's Stuff this morning before I went to work. I was anxious to work with a new designer, and new products. I must say that I LOVE this kit! I love the colors and the overall softness of the design. I am sure there will be more layouts with this one! Here are the two I did tonight.

News

I received an email this morning from June at Cen's Loft. I have been asked to join her Creative Team!!! I just love doing layouts and using new products. I am looking forward to working with her designs and her team of creative designers. Right now I am in the process of joining the galleries where she has her products, and deciding which of her products to use first. This is exciting, new products! Please visit her blog at Cen's Stuff .

It's Sunday

I am still trying to figure out how to design things for a kit, or just for posting. There is so much to learn. I read where once things are designed they must be checked for stray pixels and shadows, etc. I am not sure what that means, but I asked the question in one of the yahoo groups I belong too. I am hoping to get an answer. I have been dabbling with a few papers and elements, but before I do anything with them, I need to know what I need to check. I certainly do not want to post anything that is not 100% excellent quality. I did a LO for the May Challenge at Blushbutter, we were to make a LO of our pet, but there were things that we could choose from, at least one had to be included in the LO. If you look closely, there is a little element at the bottom of the multi-frame, that is what I added to meet the requirement. It is a little framed art piece of girls with their dog. Yeah, I know this LO is of WINTER, and it is now SPRING....but it was a pet LO challenge, and this day HAD to be scrapped!

The paper and frame I used are from Maria LaFrance Designs, the wonderful Poodle wire element and the bone are from LilyBelle Designs. The ribbon and tiny art piece are from Lara Payton. I just love putting things from different kits together. That's it for today, hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

I am so surprised!

A few days ago I entered a contest for the Supreme Team at goDigital Scrapbooking. For Round one we were to create a layout using a kit by Christy Skaggs call "Spring Bling". I did a layout of my morning visitor, a squirrel, and guess what............I moved on to Round Two!!! Below is the Round One layout. For Round Two we are using the page kit, Little Star by Amyleigh. Wish me luck!! I will post that layout and the results after May 20, which is the deadline for submitting them. Here is "Morning Visitor"

Happy Mother's Day

Sorry I have not added any layouts or news, but I joined a new group of designers, and I Have been busy adding their links, and gathering much needed information about designing. I hope to give it a try very soon, and when I do, you all will be the first to know!! Not sure exactly where I am going to start, papers? elements? wordart? I want to do it all.....so much to do, and not enough time!

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day. I am having my Mom over for dinner, and hopefully my children will stop in.

Blinkies

Sorry, no pages to share as I had hoped. I did not do any actual scrapping today. Instead I read alot and I joined a new yahoo group, hoping to find more resources and tutorials for designing. I spent several hours today, downloading tutorials for Photoshop. There is so much to learn. I am excited to find this group of ladies who pointed me in the direction of many wonderful sites and tutorials. I learned how to make a blinkie, and it worked!! The bad thing is, I actually made it too big for the blog, LOL, but, I will adjust the size tomorrow, for now I must get to bed. My alarm will go off way too soon. I feel like I am one step closer to designing s few things of my own. Tomorrow, maybe I can put some of the other tutorials to use. It will happen in time, I am just so impatient!

Long Day

Today was such a long day. It seemed like I was at work forever! When I got home, I planted flowers, and then sat down to read email and check the downloads for today. Gotta get those freebies, LOL. I will have some extra time tomorrow, I am hoping to get a few pages done. Hope to have a few to share. Til then.........have a great night!

Another Challenge

I just love challenges. Tonight I download a mini kit that had four papers, four buttons, two ribbons, two flowers, a journeling type element, and an alpha. To enter, you had to make a layout with those elements. The kit was bright and colorful, and fun..........here is what I came up with. I used ALL the pieces, YEAHHHHH! LOL

The kit is from angiekovacs digital designs.
