I made it to round FOUR!!!!

Can you believe it, I made it to round four in the Go Digital Scrapbooking Supreme Team Contest. We were given the kit "Something Shabby" by One Memory At A Time, which is available in the GDS shoppe. This is the layout that I made and entered in Round Three.

The bear is one that I have had for years, and he, like the Velveteen Rabbit, has been loved until his fur is off in spots, his joints are loose, and he is very shabby. By the way, the Velveteen Rabbit is one of my all time favorite children's stories. Thanks to all of you who took time to check out my layout at GDS, and to leave such nice comments. Now to see what I can come up with for Round Four!!

I also wanted to share the previews of the Collab Kit from Pretty Scrappy. Yesterday I shared the previews of the elements, today I am sharing the papers. This is a huge kit! Casey has a big debut planned with lots of freebies, so check back on June 1st to see what we have for you.

My Grandma

As I have written, "Sweet Adaline Designs" was named for my Grandmother. She is a very special woman, who means the world too me. She loves Iris, thus the Iris in the header, and she loves even more the color lavender, thus the lavender Iris. When I sat down tonight to work with this kit "Monet's Garden", the beautiful lavenders and blues made me think of her, "Mom Mom" as we call her. This photo is of her and my Grandfather about 20 years ago. They love to dance.....and still will if given the opportunity!

Round 3 Results Are In

I checked my messages this morning and I was chosen to move on to round 3 in the Supreme Team Contest at Go Digital Scrapbooking!! I am so excited. The kit we used for Round 2 was "Little Star" by AmyLeigh. I think, as soon as I saw the kit, this picture of my grandson came to mind. Below is the layout that I created for the second round, thank you AmyLeigh for your wonderful designs, this kit was fun to work with. Wish me luck for Round 3, I am sure the competition gets tougher with each round!!!

Two Layouts

I downloaded two new kits from Cen's Stuff this morning before I went to work. I was anxious to work with a new designer, and new products. I must say that I LOVE this kit! I love the colors and the overall softness of the design. I am sure there will be more layouts with this one! Here are the two I did tonight.

It's Sunday

I am still trying to figure out how to design things for a kit, or just for posting. There is so much to learn. I read where once things are designed they must be checked for stray pixels and shadows, etc. I am not sure what that means, but I asked the question in one of the yahoo groups I belong too. I am hoping to get an answer. I have been dabbling with a few papers and elements, but before I do anything with them, I need to know what I need to check. I certainly do not want to post anything that is not 100% excellent quality. I did a LO for the May Challenge at Blushbutter, we were to make a LO of our pet, but there were things that we could choose from, at least one had to be included in the LO. If you look closely, there is a little element at the bottom of the multi-frame, that is what I added to meet the requirement. It is a little framed art piece of girls with their dog. Yeah, I know this LO is of WINTER, and it is now SPRING....but it was a pet LO challenge, and this day HAD to be scrapped!

The paper and frame I used are from Maria LaFrance Designs, the wonderful Poodle wire element and the bone are from LilyBelle Designs. The ribbon and tiny art piece are from Lara Payton. I just love putting things from different kits together. That's it for today, hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Wish me luck!! I will post that layout and the results after May 20, which is the deadline for submitting them. Here is "Morning Visitor"

Happy Mother's Day

Sorry I have not added any layouts or news, but I joined a new group of designers, and I Have been busy adding their links, and gathering much needed information about designing. I hope to give it a try very soon, and when I do, you all will be the first to know!! Not sure exactly where I am going to start, papers? elements? wordart? I want to do it all.....so much to do, and not enough time!

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day. I am having my Mom over for dinner, and hopefully my children will stop in.

Blinkies

Sorry, no pages to share as I had hoped. I did not do any actual scrapping today. Instead I read alot and I joined a new yahoo group, hoping to find more resources and tutorials for designing. I spent several hours today, downloading tutorials for Photoshop. There is so much to learn. I am excited to find this group of ladies who pointed me in the direction of many wonderful sites and tutorials. I learned how to make a blinkie, and it worked!! The bad thing is, I actually made it too big for the blog, LOL, but, I will adjust the size tomorrow, for now I must get to bed. My alarm will go off way too soon. I feel like I am one step closer to designing s few things of my own. Tomorrow, maybe I can put some of the other tutorials to use. It will happen in time, I am just so impatient!

Another Challenge

I just love challenges. Tonight I download a mini kit that had four papers, four buttons, two ribbons, two flowers, a journeling type element, and an alpha. To enter, you had to make a layout with those elements. The kit was bright and colorful, and fun..........here is what I came up with. I used ALL the pieces, YEAHHHHH! LOL

The kit is from angiekovacs digital designs.

Newest Layouts

These are the first two layouts that I did with the photos of the Faerie Festival......I love the second one and the photo of Chloe, it almost looks as if she sees a fairie over there LOL.

Faerie Festival

Yesterday, my daughter, grand daughter and I went to a festival in a nearby borough. A Faerie Festival! (This is how a true Faerie spells it!) A Faerie Festival is held to celebrate the beginning of Spring and the return of all the Nature Spirits to the warm world. The theme goes back to the ancient times where festivals were held on the first day of May with great rejoicing at the return of the earth's abundance in spring and the impending bounty of summer. This was a new experience for us both, a mystical, magical experience filled with fantasy and adventure. We had never gone to anything like this, nor did we have an idea what to expect. Let me just say, it was truly an adventure.

We had to park about 1/2 mile from the entrance and walk, through the fields and wooded area to get to the admission gate. Right inside the gate was a "character". that I am sure represented something in the faerie world, he was covered totally with leaves, and was in a small creek, playing in the water, and rubbing mud on his arms. He was quite interesting.
Throughout the day we saw good faeries and dark faeries. Gnomes, elves, and so many other wee folk. We also saw some not so wee folk, who really should not have been in faerie costume, or should I say they were more out than in?? You know the type LOL.

It was a grand occasion and we really had fun, on the way we planned our costume for next year, I Have decided I Just HAVE to have the pointed ears!!!

At the Entrance, maybe he is a troll?

Charming couple.

Charming, love the ears!

Cute little musical faerie.

I plan to do some layouts with the photos I took so I will add those later. I took so many photos hoping that some would be suitable for layouts. I think I have quite a few that will be lovely. I know Blushbutter has a kit perfect for them, will share as soon as I have time to do a few.

I have been busy!

In case you didn't know, I am a member of the Creative Team for Blushbutter and have recently been chosen to be a part of the Creative Team for Pretty Scrappy!! I am so excited! Now I have two wonderful designers to work with. Here are my newest layouts.

This layout was done using Blushbutter's "Summer Dreams" kit. You can find this kit and many other beautiful designs at http://www.blushbutter.com/store/.

This layout was done with the "By The Sea" kit by Just Passin Through. You can find herdesings and much more at http://prettyscrappy.com/shop/ .

Working with two CTs is alot of fun. I am enjoying trying new things, and learning more each day. The layout below is another one I did using "By The Sea", it is an Out of the Box technique that I was attempting. My grandson will love this one!

I hope you will visit me from time to time. I will continue to share layouts as I do them, and I hope one day I will be able to share freebies with you. I am working on some designs for that.
